The Division of Substance Abuse of the Montefiore Medical Center is the largest medical school affiliated treatment program in the United States. Our program provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment along with on-site medical and psychiatric healthcare for over 4,000 patients.
The Assistant Director will be responsible for directing and supervising the administrative functions at the DoSA Wellness centers. The candidate will be directly responsible for managing HR issues (e.g., time/attendance), recruitment of staff, on-boarding and off-boarding staff, Labor Relations, regulatory compliance, and special grants/projects. The Assistant Director will work collaboratively with other senior leadership at DoSA including the Director of Finance, the Medical Director, Facilities Manager and the Administrative Nurse Manager and will be directly supervised by the Administrative Director.

Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for regulatory operation of DoSA programs and grant programs. Ensure compliance with city, state and federal regulations and standards for clinical components of treatment. Make on-site inspections of clinical operations and provide guidance at 

   the sites for the administrative staff.
• Define, manage and monitor clinical productivity. Meet with program staff to ensure staff is meeting program expectations. Assist with work flow recommendations toimprove patient care.
• Review, revise, and assist in the development of program policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with bargaining unit and state and federal labor practices. Oversee labor relations issues including counseling employees with time/leave problems and/or

   work performance problems.
• Interface with MMC Human Resources/Recruiting to facilitate filling of vacant positions including advertising and scheduling of job interviews. Coordinate with all DoSA hiring managers to ensure efficient screening, interviewing, and selection of individuals to fill

   vacant positions within the programs.
• Oversee employee time and attendance monitoring and payroll. Communicates with MMC payroll department and other MMC related departments.
• Direct human resources training and staff development. Provide new employee orientation/training/monitoring. Ensure all annual trainings are provided and documented appropriately and that annual staff evaluations are conducted and documented.
• Participate in monthly DoSA CQI Committee. Gather data as instructed by CQI Committee as necessary. Act as the Administrative Director in his/her absence


• Master of Social Work and LCSW, LMHC, or Ph.D. in Psychology New York State (NYS) licensure required
• Expertise in the assessment and treatment of substance abuse required
• 5 Years + of Experience as a Program Director of OASAS, OMH or other similar program.
• Must possess sophisticated interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. Demonstrate the capacity to work well in a collaborative team environment.
• Must be highly organized and be able to work independently.
• Excellent decision making skills and an ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Strong computer skills are required.
