CLINICAL ADMINISTRATIVE DIETITIAN

BRONX, NY, US


This position is accountable to manage all aspects of the nutritional program at the Hutch II. Oversees and provides appropriate nutritional assessment and subsequent nutrition/diet/lifestyle education/counseling to referred patients from all clinical practices and specialties, servicing both adult and pediatric populations, and may extend to clients in the general community.  

 

Provides services suitable to the patients' health needs, culture and lifestyle in order to ensure comprehensive health care maintenance.  

 

Ensures regulatory mandates are met. Ensures assessments are documented per policy and regulatory mandates, develops and monitors implementation of care plans and goals.

 

Develops, implements and modifies educational material, individual sessions and educational classes for approved programs. Monitors and re-enforces dietary teaching, modifies the care plan and restructures diet based on laboratory values, clinical data, nutrition focused physical exams, and the total medical condition.

 

Provides requested coding or billing information, and pre-authorization of oral nutrition supplements, as appropriate. Participates in research studies, data collection and entry, and publications of studies, as applicable. Develops policies and standards. Formulates, implements and monitors performance improvement to insure compliance with the goals of MMC and standards of regulatory agencies.

 

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

Active Registered Dietitian (RD) status with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Bachelor Degree required, Master Degree preferred.
NYS Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN) mandatory prior to DOH.

Experience in nutritional assessment/education in an outpatient setting desirable. 
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
