The Montefiore Health System Medical-Surgical Practice  -  Manager of Clinical Learning will manage the local educators in the designated practice area of MHS Medical-Surgical Practice. 

This position will oversee the standardization of education interventions for staff training, process changes and standards of care in the designated practice area throughout the health system.  He/she will lead the delivery of learning needs assessments and align training plans according to the results of the needs assessment to ensure relevant, measurable and impactful service delivery.   Lead the team in ensuring efficient, timely, and effective regulatory education requirements & System wide roll outs as well as  in vendor selection and management. 

The Manager of clinical learning will partner with colleagues & leadership in the strategy development and delivery of system based on-boarding for clinicians and nursing orientation.  
The person in this position will lead and participate in several projects, programs and initiatives in support of business needs. These include but are not limited to:  
     *  Joint Accredidation Program (CEU)
     *  Educational Sign offs for continuing education and university/college enrollments for relevant clinical/nursing positions
     * Accreditation/Center of Excellence Initiatives (like hip & Joint Center)
     * Support Nursing Leadership with Magnet  Recognition initiatives
     *  Participate and provide recommendations in RCAs and PI projects as it pertains to education & training.
Required:  10 years of work experience; 3 years of experience in clinical education.  3 years in clinical/nursing role .  Professional clinical degree at the Masters level in Education and NYS licensure, or eligibility for NYS licensure for example RN, NP, PA. Board certification . 

Preferred:  PhD/ Ed.D in Education; previous management experience

Knowledge required:
     *  Demonstrated knowledge of education theory and practices as well as experience in developing interactive learning course and hands on implementation. 
     *  Strong working knowledge of the health industry today & the effect of the many changes occurring simultaneously, such as quality and safety trends, patient centered care and reimbursement of services changes. Knowledge of integrated, population based care.
     *  Proficiency in finding clinical evidence and applying to learning initiatives.
     *  Knowledge of research process and implementation and the ability to interpret research findings
     *  Microsoft office skills and other computer based systems, such as electronic medical record
     *  Foundational knowledge of clinical simulation
