The Clinical Pharmacy manager is accountable for the daily operations, planning, coordinating and managing the activities of the professional and support staff of the oncology pharmacy located at Montefiore Medical Park.  This includes overseeing the sterile production of chemotherapy and other infused medications for the inpatient and outpatient infusion center where these medications are administered.  The individual is also responsible for preparing the monthly staff schedule, reviewing staff time and attendance records, adhering to pharmacy practice regulations, following-up on drug-related problems, conducting quality improvement reviews, training of professional/supportive staff, developing/implementing administrative and clinical procedures and participating in departmental meetings related to departmental activities (EPIC, P&T, etc.). Other activities include in a bargaining unit environment, project management, budgeting, inventory management, compliance with policies and procedures, accreditation requirements and regulations and medication safety. They assist in the workload as necessary. The individual should have advanced training and education, and at least 3-5 years experience in progressive oncology pharmacy practice. This individual will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating potential and current pharmacists in relation to the Pharmacy Department's overall mission and vision and short and long-term goals.




-Completed an accredited pharmacy school program and have a minimum of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.


-A PharmD, MS In a pharmacy related subject, completion of PGY1 and PGY2 residency, MBA or PHA are preferred.


-Eligible for Board Certification or similar certification preferred.


-Minimum of 3 years of related work experience


-NYS Pharmacist's License


-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel), data mining software, EPIC electronic medical record or similar system, and automated dispensing technology.


-Knowledge of NYS pharmacy regulations, federal and state-controlled substance regulations and USP compounding chapters.
