Position Summary:

The Infection Control Analyst actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center.


The Infection Control Analyst is an investigator, instructor and consultant with five major infection control functions:


2.Data analysis and interpretation, summary reporting

3.Development and implementation of preventive and control measures

4.Consultation, education, performance improvement, and academic activities

5.Liaison with outside agencies



-Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree.   Preferred: Master’s Degree

-Work Experience required: 2 years

-NYS RN or equivalent for non RN applicants

-Professional Registered Nurse license and current registration to practice in New York State or equivalent licensure for  applicable non-nursing candidates.

-Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field and a minimum of 2 consecutive years of recent experience required.

-Master’s degree in a health-related field and Infection control certification preferred at time of employment. Certification in area of specialty to be obtained in a reasonable period of time and maintained during employment.

-Documented commitment to continuing professional development.

-Infection Control, hospital epidemiology or related experience.

-Clinical Information System (CIS).

-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

-Excellent problem solving, communication and presentation skills.

-Experience working with performance improvement tools and methods, such as PDSA, LEAN techniques, and High Reliability Organizations preferred.
