Montefiore Licensed Practical Nurse (“LPN”) actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced score card performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center. LPN contributes standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing Social Policy Statement.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides direct care for a population specific patient assignment reflective of current and changing status of patient
  • Provide patient/family teaching and discharge instructions to meet learning/discharged needs as identified by RN
  • Able to periodize and solve problems and use proper judgment in difficult situations and be flexible in non-emergent situations
  • Provides and maintains safe environment for patients/families through preventive and interventional measures
  • Documents direct patient care as per MMC policies and procedures
  • Participates, practices and promotes continuous quality improvement

 

QULIFICATIONS:

  • High school Diploma (GED), Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • A minimum one (1) year experience
  • NYS LPN and current registration
  • BLS
  • Effective communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal
  • Ability to use basic date and retrieval system
