MANAGER LEARNING SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION

BRONX, NY, US


The manager Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator is responsible for the system-wide administration of Montefiore's LMS. The person in this role manages other LMS Administrators and oversees the work of local campus LMS administrators. Responsibilities include overseeing and monitoring those responsible for day-to-day operation of the LMS; setting, implementing and communicating LMS policies and procedures; producing accurate reports and metrics including regulatory required information; and continually improving the user experience. The incumbent in this role drives the collection, refinement, and  reporting of learning program evaluation data using an online survey tool; creates surveys and dashboards; and establishes standards, policies and procedures for usage of the tool. The Manager, LMS administrator troubleshoots data integrity issues, analyzes data for its completeness and ability to meet business needs, and proposes solutions or recommendations. The Mgr LMS Administrator also uses the data to tell a compelling story that provides insight into data using key metrics and meaningful, interactive visualizations. Manages multiple vendor relationships (HealthStream, Qualtrics, etc.), identifying, selecting, contracting with, and supervising  our learning technology vendors to ensure quality services and compliance with Montefiore and regulatory requirements. In addition, this individual leads system-wide training initiatives that utilize learning technologies on behalf of internal clients, and serves as adjunct faculty on key Learning Network programs.  May also contribute to curriculum development and training as needed.   The manager, LMS administrator will lead continuous development projects within his/her practice and will use project management methodologies  to manage all projects.   

 

Education/skills:

Minimum education Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Database Administration or related field; OR Education, Business, or Human Resources with a technology focus . Master's degree preferred.

At least 2 years' experience administering Learning Management Systems. 

Knowledge of interfaces--how information flows between systems.

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues on the system side as well as on the user side (e.g., issues with Browser compatibility, network security, user error, etc.)

Experience managing the work of others, including direct reports, consultants, and/or external vendors. Formal management/leadership experience a plus.

Experience with common learning technologies, such as webinar technology, eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate), and video production tools.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Knowledge of adult learning theory.

Stellar communication and customer service skills.

Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues across multiple functional areas of the organization.
