Clinical Manager, Social Work- AIDS Center


The Clinical Manager, Social Work, AIDS Center oversees the professional practice of social workers, case managers and substance use counselors in the Montefiore AIDS Center and its affiliated clinics and site; ensures that medical center and departmental policies and procedures are followed with respect to social work assessment and intervention, and discharge planning; monitors and works to improve staff performance; participates in performance improvement and revenue enhancement activities; administratively manages the AIDS Center's mental health services in collaboration with medical leadership; participates in grant applications and activities including drafting sections of competing and noncompetive renewals and any required reports, program design, and implementation of grant programs. The Clinical Manager, Social Work acts as an educator, implementation team leader, internal consultant, facilitator, role model, change agent, and advocate. This position insures that high quality, compassionate, culturally competent effective and efficient social work services are delivered in compliance with professional standards of the Montefiore AIDS Center, Montefiore Medical Center, Social Work, The Joint Commission, and regulatory requirements.


Job Requirements: 

Licensed and currently registered as a Master of Social Work;
LCSW or LCSW-R required

Extensive knowledge and experience with case management and mental health services for people living with and at-risk for HIV
Knowledge and experience with case management and mental health services for LGBTQ+ individuals
Knowledge and experience with case management and mental health services for individuals with substance use disorders
Experience managing social workers and case managers
Experience with writing and implementing grant-funded clinical care programs and meeting deliverables and requirements
Harm reduction approach to care
Motivational interviewing
Trauma-informed care
SIFI certification preferred, not required
Intimate familiarity with the NASW Code of Ethics
