MATERIAL HANDLER II

BRONX, NY, US


Performs materials management activities such as shipping, receiving,delivering and maintaining supplies, materials, and equipment. 

Under the direct supervision of the manager, the incumbent will provide superior customer service by performing shipping, receiving, inventory control functions. Incumbent will be responsible for picking and delivery of supplies throughout the Medical Center, and utilization of computerized Inventory Control. Training and experience in Sterilization and Decontamination in the Central Supply Department is Required.. Incumbent will operate and monitor the gas and steam autoclaves and assembling of procedure trays for the Nursing Department. Must have NYS CDL License with air brakes

 

Education and Experience:

 

High school diploma minimum of 3 years work experience in a health care materials management capacity or equivalent of education and experience and computer literacy. High level of communication and interpersonal skills. (Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English). Must have at least 400 hours experience in the Sterilization and Decontamination process, instrumentation, assembling procedure trays and the operation of the ETO (Ethylene Oxide) and Steam Autoclaves.  Must be able to lift up to 75 Lbs. or more. Certified Central Service Technician preferred.
