Working under the direction of departmental leadership, develop ideas and content for the departments cross-campus communications and social media platforms with a focus on academic and clinically relevant topics designed to improve clinical outcomes.



  • Develop ideas and content, conduct interviews, and write copy for weekly (<500 words) and quarterly electronic newsletters for the department with a focus on internal cross-campus communications
  • Manage public relations and customer service projects including customer satisfaction survey, physician / client engagement, coordination of event planning
  • Maintain and update departmental web page content
  • Attend departmental meetings and report about events including Grand Rounds, Works in Progress, Pathology Retreat, Resident Dinners, and cross post relevant content on website, newsletters, and social media
  • Special media postings of academic and clinical events; work on evolving social media accounts for the department and chairman and stay abreast of new social media platforms that may benefit department
  • Collaborate with Einstein and Montefiore internal and external communication personnel to develop and implement effective strategies for communicating through department website
  • Additional projects as assigned



  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Strong writing ability with background in journalism preferred
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills with ability to interview clinicians, researchers, students, etc. and ability to identify relevant story content
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, Photoshop or similar image editing program, web content management systems, Mailchimp or other e-mail marketing program.
  • Must have PowerPoint, Excel, Word experience
  • Ability to evolve social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and explore and test new social media platforms.
  • Photography and video (shooting and editing) skills desired


This position is located in Pathology in the call center operations department in the Moses campus. The hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm
