NURSE PRACTITIONER

BRONX, NY, US


The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will care for patients with chronic kidney disease in the outpatient setting under the supervision of and with the collaboration of an attending nephrologist. The NP will be responsible for seeing and coordinating care of these patients, including evaluation of new patients, follow-up of patients, evaluating and monitoring kidney function; BP control; appropriate testing; evaluation of medications with appropriate ordering, prescribing and titration of meds. The position also allows a great opportunity to be involved with teaching patients about chronic kidney disease and options for care. Fluency in Spanish is required. 

 

Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred. Current NYS RN license and registration. Current NP license and registration. NYS Nurse Practitioner specialty certification. Knowledge of standards of good clinical practice.3 years of related work experience, including care of patients in the ambulatory setting is preferred. Preferred that applicants have experience in managing chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and diabetes; clinical research studies involving human subjects; database utilization and regulatory compliance.
