e NP participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The NP perform and document consent, history and physical exams on outpatients for Interventional Radiology procedures. The Nurse Practitioner will assess and provide post procedure care for patients in the Interventional Radiology collaboration with physicians. The NP will be responsible for PICC/Midline insertions, minor invasive procedures in IR and assisting with contrast orders/ injections in MRI/CT areas. The NP contributes to the actualization of the philosophy and objectives of the Radiology Dept. He/she practices within the scope of practice in care delivery.



A. New York State License for a Nurse Practitioner and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an NP.
B. Masters or post Master's Certificate in specialty as a nurse practitioner preferred; or a combination of education and experience that is acceptable to N.Y. State Education Department and the Director of Nursing and/or Chairman of the Department, or Division Director.

C. Prior clinical experience in Interventional Radiology, Critical care or Vascular Surgery preferred

D. Prior experience with PICC/Midlines preferred

E. Excellent critical thinking skills and extensive knowledge of physical assessment
F.  Effective English communication skills, both written and oral

G.  Experience with medical system software and office computer skills

H. BLS, ACLS and PALS are required.
