OPERATING ROOM NURSE COORDINATOR

BRONX, NY, US


Provides nursing care services to patients undergoing a surgical procedures. Assesses patients, develops and documents nursing care anddischarge plans, and prepares and administers medications andinterventions. Supervises nursing attendants and ancillary staff inpatient care activities.

 

The Patient Care Coordinator participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintainsprofessional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills.

 

Demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served.

 

Contributes to the actualization of the vision, of the philosophy andthe balanced performance measures of the discipline. He/she is committed to maintaining the standardsof the practice of nursing and is responsible for the coordination, implementation, delivery and evaluation of the care to the patient.

 

Collaborate with and under the direction of the Administrative Nurse Manager.


Participates in the coordination/implementation of fiscal, human and other resources needed to providepatient care services for a designated unit, location or patient population on a designated unit. Monitors
performance of nursing personnel in maintaining MMC standards of practice of nursing.

 

Coaches/provides feedback to nursing personnel as needed

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
New York State License for Registered Professional Nurse and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an R.N.
CNOR certification preferred.

BSN degree required and 5 years clinical experience, two of which must be in the specialty or related service; or combination of education and experience acceptable to Clinical Director of Nursing or designee.
Demonstrates clinical leadership, problem solving skills, competency and principles of Montefiore Excellence.
Computer literate.
