PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

The Montefiore Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) PACU/Surgery Center maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing’s Social Policy Statement.  The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) PACU/Surgery Center actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center.

The PCC participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The PCC demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served.  Responsibilities for monitoring nursing and ancillary Personnel in the PACU/Surgery Center. Coordinates intra and interdepartmental activities to provide for an efficient process and quality patient care. Displays leadership skills in management systems, clinical practice, quality assurance and staff development in accordance with the philosophy of the department.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

New York State Registered Professional License and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State.

B.S. degree preferred

Minimum of 2 years experience in PACU or related area.

Demonstrated clinical competence in leadership skills

Critical Care experience; ACLS Certification.
