The Butler Center is seeking a half-time patient care technician (PCT) from 9AM- 1PM, Monday- Friday at our 2nd practice site which is the Bronx Child Advocacy Center (CAC) located at 1775 Grand Concourse in the Bronx. The position is designed to assist the child abuse pediatrician or skilled nurse practitioner in the evaluation and treatment of children referred for assessment for physical and sexual abuse. It will require patient appointment making and appointment reminders and working with the multidisciplinary team of the Bronx CAC and other referral sources to gather information on the reason for referral and other pertinent information.  The tasks of the PCT will include but are not limited to patient registration in EPIC, documentation of patient referral information in EPIC, preparing patients for an exam for child abuse, taking vital signs, phlebotomy, and the collection of some culture specimens. The PCT will assist the medical provider in preparing for the weekly case planning meeting at the Bronx CAC, and gathering monthly data for informational reports.


Must be a graduate of a state approved nursing assistant certificate program or 2 years’ experience as a direct care provider in a related clinical setting or a combination of education. Certificate of successfully completing a Patient Care Technician training program with presentation of competency based orientation and BCLS. Training must include phlebotomy and 12 Lead ECG. Responsibilities include taking vitals, blood drawing, EKG’s, and related duties as needed Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.  Experience working with children and families is essential.


This position is 100% grant funded.
