PATIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Job Summary:
As a professional member of an interdiciplinary team, the Patient Service Representative will perform a variety of clerical functions to insure the efficient operation of a Physician's office or clinic, Serves as a liaison between the patient, physician, clinical providers, ancillary case staff, and diagnostic services. Verifies insurance coverage status and collect and records payment utilizing automated systems. Schedules appointments. Performs related work as required.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 6 months work experience
- Experience with an Electronic Health Record.
- Detail-oriented
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, excellent organizational skills, compassion, and ability to meet deadlines as well as the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers (patients, direct care staff, providers, departmental and executive leadership, etc.).
- May rotate to other AIDS Center sites based on operational needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Office Word.
- Superb communication and customer service skills are required at all times to interact effectively with all patients. Effective English communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal.
- Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems
- Spanish speaking preferred but not required
- Must be able to wear full PPE up to and including N95 mask for infection control purposes
- Knowledge of Medical insurances/programs accepted by clinic- Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and commercial insurance.
