We are currently seeking a Per Diem Registered Pharmacist to join our DoSA Wellness Center. As part of our astonishing team, you are expected to maintain standards of service excellence and professional practice, and adhere to evidenced based policies, procedures, and work processes to ensure provision of quality patient care.



  • Prepare and dispense all types of medications using accepted standards of pharmacy practice for unit dose distribution, ambulatory pharmacy services and compounding of sterile and non-sterile products
  • Review medication orders for accuracy, completeness and therapeutic appropriateness
  • Address specific needs and characteristics of neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics; Prescribe medications to patient’s age-specific needs
  • Compare current medication therapy with new medication orders to prevent inappropriate drug use (drug allergies, drug interactions, duplicative drug therapy, sub-therapeutic or toxic doses)
  • Monitor the effectiveness of drug therapy for individual cases. Document monitoring parameters and results
  • Participate in multidisciplinary patient care rounds with other health care providers to discuss or explain drug-related issues
  • Provide drug information to physicians and other health care providers, patients, and families
  • Perform detailed inspections of medication storage areas throughout designated unit / area in accordance with hospital and procedure
  • Assist in the orientation and training of other pharmacy personnel in peer of subordinate relationships. Participate in the training of pharmacy interns and residents
  • Supervise and direct the activities of pharmacy graduates and residents
  • Participate in performance improvement and other appropriate departmental committees. Identify problems and implements solutions
  • Present Inservice and / or orientation to Pharmacy, Nursing or medical staff annually
  • Perform admission drug history and drug discharge counseling for patients or family members
  • Provide routine evaluation of patient’s pharmacotherapy including drug selection, dose, frequency, route of administration, duration, and the presence of drug interactions of incompatibilities



  • Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy (BS or Doctor of Pharmacy) plus current license and registration to practice in New York State.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a pharmacist in Hospital Pharmacy with accepted standards of practice.
  • PharmD or MS Degree and / or completion of Pharmacy Residency Program may be used as a substitute for some experience.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing education programs and review of periodical literature.
  • Maintain and provide proof of periodical literature and provide proof of 15 Continuing Education credits each year.
