The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Medical Center is recognized as one of the best in the nation. It fuses together a unique blend of extraordinary physicians, a renowned clinical team, and exceptional educational and research resources to help patients cope with mental health disorders. We provide the highest quality care and the safest, most effective solutions to patients of all ages by integrating the latest advances in science and research into new treatment developments. We are searching for a PhD candidate, ideally bilingual (English-Spanish) with neuropsychological assessment expertise, to fill this soon-to-be vacated position in the Child Outpatient Psychiatry Department (COPD). The candidate will be a New York State licensed psychologist and, as such, will be responsible for the evidence-based assessment, testing, and individual and group treatment of children and adolescents and their families, presenting to the COPD with a broad range of severe psychiatric disorders. As a licensed psychologist, the candidate will also provide training and supervision for interns and externs treating patients in the Moses COPD. This is a position of need, as the current COPD waitlist is 60% Spanish-speaking only and many of the patents need psychological testing – which only licensed psychologists are trained and qualified to perform.
