Under the supervision of the Mental Health Director, this position provides psychological services in the form of assessment/evaluation/testing, ongoing long or short-term therapy, crisis intervention, and/or referrals to registered patients. Where therapy is indicated, develop a treatment plan and maintain updated progress reports. Services are to assess mental status, maintain stability and an impact on the lives of those we service as to better their functioning. In addition, this position may provide supervision and education to less senior members of the mental health staff.


1. Handle the multiple psychosocial concerns and needs of this underserved, low-socioeconomic population.

2. Engage a multi-cultural underserved community and building trust to utilize mental health services.

3. Manage psychiatric needs with patients that are not compliant with treatment plans.

4. Provide psychotherapy in the form of short or long-term therapy to adults/children on an individual, family and group basis, seen in 45 minute sessions either once per week or every other week.

5. Intake/referrals - to appropriately identify those patients needing treatment which cannot be provided at our facility- particularly those needing psychiatric coverage.

6. Work in conjunction with medical and social services to integrate care towards a better comprehensive treatment and treatment plan.

7. Ensure proper triage, evaluation, assessment, treatment and referral for any psychological crisis.

8. Provide community mental health education to achieve highest degree of awareness of mental health issues in community.

REQUIRES: PhD or PsyD required, coupled with 3-5 years of experience with a pediatric and adult populations, preferably in an underserved population and/or community-based setting.

Bilingual (Spanish) capabilities preferred.

Superior communications skills (both written and oral) required.
