REGISTERED NURSE PER DIEM

BRONX, NY, US


Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients. Assesses patients, develops and documents nursing care and discharge plans, and prepares and administers medications and interventions. Supervises nursing attendants and ancillary staff in patient care activities.

 

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Montefiore RN-OR maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the AmericanNurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing’s SocialPolicy Statement.
The Registered Nurse - OR actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center.


The RN participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practicestandards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The RN demonstrates core and unitspecific competencies based on the patient population served.

 

The Registered Nurse contributes to the actualization of the philosophy and objectives of the MMC andthe Surgical Care Center. He/she is committed to maintaining the standards of the practice of nursingand is responsible for the coordination, implementation and delivery of care to the neonate, pediatric,adolescent, adult and/or elderly patient. He/she participates in performance improvement/researchactivities, maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
New York State Registered Professional License and current registration or valid permit to practice inNew York State

OR experience preferred
B.S. degree preferred
C.N.O.R. Certification preferred
Membership in A.O.R.N. highly desirable
