Working under the direction of Women’s Health Unified Administrator/Director/Revenue Manager the Revenue Cycle Specialist is a Certified Professional Coder providing expertise to providers and staff associates on proper documentation, coding and billing practices in accordance with their specialized training.  Reviews, analyzes and assures the final diagnoses and procedures as stated by the practicing providers are valid and complete in advance of charges dropping.  Accurately codes office and hospital procedures for providers to ensure proper reimbursement for surgical and other specialized complex procedures.  Conducts auditing and monitoring of compliance related activities within the department. Medical coding, physician and hospital billing, revenue cycle management, third party billing, practice management, and charge capture.

 

High School diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Healthcare management or business administration or equivalent experience. 3 years of relevant work experience in Women’s Health OBGYN.

CCS-P, CCS, or CPC certification required - medical coding certification; 3 years’ experience of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding (or other applicable successor coding systems) in a multi-specialty physician or Outpatient facility environment; Knowledge of Physician and/or Outpatient Hospital coding and reimbursement methodologies. OBGYN coding experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of documentation requirements, National Correct Coding Initiative edits, LCD and physician/outpatient hospital billing requirements including reimbursement methodologies.

 

Incumbent will work at all Women’s Health locations in NYC and Westchester
