Perform all risk management activities in the Medical Center which include: coordination of litigation; review and respond to litigation status reporting from outside counsel; evaluate and provide advice on litigation strategy for individual claims; assist with and make recommendations for the development of global litigation strategies, insurance claims and coverages, staff educational programs; conduct oversight of defense counsel, investigations of  claims against the facility, interfacing with defense and inhouse counsel; developing and implementing a program that measures the effectiveness of the risk management program; developing and implementing a mechanism to provide regular reporting that measures the risk management's program effectiveness; interfacing and collaborating with quality and patient safety departments to identify safety issues associated with professional liability claims and adverse events with the objectives of driving improvement in overall safety and controlling and minimizing the institution's financial loss due to claims against it.



Masters Degree or higher, unless 7 years direct RM experience

Experience as a paralegal or attorney; Work in healthcare setting for at least 5 years,

 Experience as a paralegal or attorney a plus but not madatory, although willingness to obtain certification if not an attorney
