SECRETARY II

BRONX, NY, US


Under the direction of the manager or supervisor, associate prepares and run reports, prepares correspondence, update and maintain demographics and patient's records, orders office supplies, generate monthly reports.  Works with patients, medical staff, doctors' offices, administrative office staff, hospital ancillary departments to ensure excellent patient care and outstanding experience. Prioritizes assignments and organize office functions to ensure effective operations.  Multitasking ability a must; experienced with handling a heavy volume of calls, responsible for greeting patients, complete and or update registration; schedule a heavy volume of appointments; actively collect co-pays and assist patients, nurses, doctors and all clinical personnel with clerical request. Familiarity with insurances and pre-authorization process a plus.

 

High School Diploma and or GED required. Bachelors Degree a plus. Bilingual a must. Insurance verification knowledge a plus (Treks); Carecast, EPIC, ARIA US BANK preferred. Minimum 5 years front desk experience working in a dynamic doctor's office setting.  This position requires strong customer service skills. Knowledge of medical or equally complex terminology. Excellent phone etiquette a must.  Associate must be able to provide compassionate care to unique patient population. In-depth knowledge of HIPPA guidelines and policy procedures.  Team-building skills and teamwork ability a must. Prioritizes assignments and organizes office functions to ensure effective operations. Ability to type 55 wpm. May lead and train clerical staff.
