As a professional member of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides a range of direct and and indirect services to patients including (but not limited to) individual and family therapy, facilitation of support groups, training of staff and mental health/medical professionals, and case management. The Adolescent AIDS Program and the Umbrella Program serve primarily LGBTQ+, transgender/gender expansive, and HIV+ youth (ages 13-25). Specific experience in working with these populations is strongly preferred. The Social Worker complies with the Mission Statements of Montefiore and Social Services, and the Code of Ethics of the National Association of Social Work. Bilingual (Spanish) also preferred.


Masters in Social Work from a school of Social Work from a program registered by the NYS Department of Education or determined to be substantially equivalent by the commissioner's regulations.

Licensed to practice social work in New York State.

Requires an executed Memorandum of Understanding with a licensed Social Worker for the purposes of supervision, unless licensed as an LMSW or LCSW. 

In addition to the duties listed in the Position Description, AAP is seeking candidates with knowledge and experience in HIV/AIDS, LGBT community,  adolescent development and/or family systems.  Bilingual in Spanish/English a plus.
