SOCIAL WORKER MSW

BRONX, NY, US


The Montefiore Medical Center’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Department of Social Services are seeking a licensed social worker (LMSW or LCSW) for a full-time Social Worker Position based in the Moses Campus at the Psychiatric Observation Suite (POS). This associate will ensure timely assessments and dispositions for patients in psychiatric crisis that present in the Emergency Department.  They will facilitate inpatient admissions for patients acutely at risk and coordinate the appropriate outpatient referrals for those who are deemed safe to return home. They will serve as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. They will document within the required standard of the hospital, the Department of Health and the Joint Commission.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a LMSW or LCSW in the State of New York

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaking proficiency (preferred, not required)
  • Knowledgeable of community resources for mental health, substance use disorders, intellectual disability and autism, and neuro-cognitive decline
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and documental skills
  • Experience working in acute psychiatric setting
  • Strong diagnostic and crisis intervention skills
