SR DIRECTOR INFECTION PREVENTI

BRONX, NY, US


This position is accountable for overall organization and management of the hospital and outpatient infection prevention and control program at Montefiore.  Supervises the infection prevention and control staff to assure effective coordination and support with activities to prevent and control health care associated infections in accordance with evidence-based best practices and regulatory and national standards.  

 

Education/Skills:

Master's Degree required.

The candidate must have Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or equivalent.
The candidate must be a NYS licensed Registered Nurse if he/she holds a nursing degree. 
The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a healthcare environment, preferably in the hospital setting. Prior administrative experience in healthcare project management or quality management is a must.  Clinical Practice experience is required. 
Experience in qualitative/quantitative methods and health policy is required.
An advanced degree demonstrative of analytic skill is strongly preferred – MPH, MS, MA, or PhD.
Experience in leading the full continuum, including the inpatient and outpatient environments, as well as medical and nursing education (including residents) is preferred.  The candidate will have experience working with performance improvement tools and methods, such as PDSA, LEAN techniques, and High Reliability Organizations. 
Excellent leadership, communication, presentation skills and the ability to influence required.  
Experience or training in microbiology and/or epidemiology is preferred.
Certification or experience in healthcare technology and sterilization procedures is preferred.
