STAFF NURSE I/II

BRONX, NY, US


SUMMARY OF POSITION:

 

Assist physicians with communication with patients who have urgent questions/concerns, laboratory test follow up, imaging test follow up and follow up with patients being treated for certain conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding to see how they are, their adherence to treatment, or need to come in for appointment with MD or go to ED.  To follow up on patients who have not kept appointments and re-schedule them.  Assist MD and staff with prior authorizations (for our growing gender care and eating disorder programs, as well as for oral contraceptive pills that are increasing requiring this). Assist administrative staff with prior authorizations (diagnosis codes, provide medical information). Assist with maximizing practice schedules-create a wait list and contact patients if no show and facilitate conversion to video visit if short notice. If patient cancels, can pull patient off wait list for in person or video visit. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

New York State RN License

BSN Degree preferred

Basic Life Support Training

Infection Control Training

Effective English communication skills

Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems
