SURGICAL PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

BRONX, NY, US


 

Join Montefiore's team of Neuro-interventionalists and P.A., responsibilities involve assessing patients in the hospital and office, performing physical assessments, seeing consults in the hospital, first assist the Interventional radiologist in performing cerebral angiograms, treatment of brain aneurysms, strokes, tumors and image guided biopsies.   Once credentialed, perform image guided spinal taps, myelograms, epidural blood patches under cat scan and/or fluoroscopic guidance.  The service also performs minimally invasive pain procedures including steroid injections, intrathecal narcotic trials, spinal stimulator trials and implantation.  In the office you will see out-patients, order appropriate tests, interpret the results and formulate a plan of treatment while assisting with office based CT guided steroid injections.  Participate in research and IRB studies.  40 hour work week with no weekends or call. 

 

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

Bachelor's degree.

Graduate of an accredited Physician’s Assistant program.

Registered as a Physician’s Assistant in New York State.

NCCPA certified, must have BLS, ACLS and Infection Control Certificate.

Neurologic or general surgical experience preferred but not required.
