At Montefiore, DOING MORE means building on a history of firsts to create the future of healthcare. For over 100 years, we’ve been pushing the boundaries of medicine with innovations such as the intravenous cardiac pacemaker and one of the nation’s first pediatric kidney transplants. And as we continue to move forward, we look for professionals who want to join our team of leaders and trailblazers to advance the health of our communities in Westchester, the Hudson Valley and the Bronx.

Currently, we are seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant at Transplant Unit. As part of our astonishing team, you will be collaborating with a team of surgeons in the peri-operative care of hepatobiliary patients in the ambulatory practice setting.  Physician Assistants are part of a multidisciplinary team but function independently with physician oversight, and are responsible for evaluating patients pre- and post- surgery, conducting H & P examinations, and coordinating any testing, discharge planning, and follow up care necessary to ensure seamless transitions between the inpatient and outpatient settings.

To qualify you must have NYS licensed. Lung disease, GI, transplant, or surgical care experience is a plus, although this is not a requirement for the position.  The primary qualifications are motivation to learn hepatobiliary disease processes and treatment interventions, excel as care provider, and contribute in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Montefiore Medical Center’s advancement in the healthcare industry is also yours. Take your career to the next level by joining our trek to become the world’s leading healthcare system.
