TECHNICIAN PSYCHIATRIC II

BRONX, NY, US


Provides direct patient care services such as assisting or supervisingpsychiatric patients during activities of daily living such as eating,bathing, ambulating, and eliminating. Obtains and documents vital signs and specimens as required. Transports patients to diagnostic proceduresand other hospital locations. May lead or train lower level technicians.

 

Graduate of a State Certified PCT/PCA program

 

1. A High School diploma or G.E.D and two years of full time experience in nursing or psychiatric/behavioral health care in a high volume, intensive care environment; or  
2. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience. However, all candidates must possess a minimum High School diploma or G.E.D.
3. Completion of and certified to perform vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs  and blood glucose monitoring 
4. Successful completion of an appropriate training program in the application and use of restraints and seclusion must be completed

 

Training Program in the application and use of restraints and seclusion, MCM, Phlebotomy, EKG, Blood Glucose, VS.

Length of Work Experience required - 2 years.

 

Knowledge of the principles and procedures of phlebotomy /EKG and Blood Glucose check.
