TECHNICIAN SPECIAL PROCEDURES

BRONX, NY, US


Intraoperative (IOM) Special Procedures Tech performs the following:

* performs intraoperative neurophysiology recordings and preoperative baseline studies under direction of neurophysiologist

* performs clinical Evoked Potential studies (EP) and Electromyography (EMG)

* supports staff development and quality assurance programs to ensure up to date quality of patient assessments and high productivity

* utilizes new technologies, equipment, procedures to improve patient assessment and care

* may also perform routine Electrodiagnostic (EEG)

* prepares equipment

* communicates with surgeons and with the neurophysiologist who is supervising the IOM regarding the status of data, maintains records of IOM data and of corresponding surgical maneuvers

Associates Degree required (in relevant science), Bachelor's degree preferred (in relevant science),

1 year of relevant work experience required

Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) or equivalent combination of training and relevant experience in a medical setting is required

Active certification strongly preferred:

CNIM - Registered IOM Technologist OR

EEGT - Registered EEG Technologist

Hours 9:30am to 6:00pm, day shift, M-F
