ULTRASOUND TECHNICIAN RD OB C

Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek.

 

Performs ultrasonic examinations for diagnostic purposes and prepares a preliminary written impressions. Cleans and maintains equipment.
Under the direction of the Radiologist in charge of ultrasound and supervisor of ultrasound, performs a variety of ultrasound examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.  Uses independent judgment and initiative to apply prescribed scanning protocols for purposes of medical diagnosis.
High School diploma/GED required
Associates degree preferred
Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Program required
Hours 4pm-12:30am, evening shift, 7.5 hour shifts, alternate weekend scheduling

1.  Associates degree or Diploma from an Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
2.  Graduation from an accredited training program in diagnostic medical sonography, which meets requirements for certification by ARDMS.
3.  Must be registered by the ARDMS in Abdomen and/or OB/Gyn.
4.  Requires 30 CE credits per three year rolling triennium to maintain active ARDMS status.
