LAB SUPERVISOR

HARTSDALE, NY, US


The Lab Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to processing and testing of andrology specimens, daily instrumentation, QC & QA, processing of all serum specimens & testing using an automated analyzer, data analysis & interpretation, and instrumentation maintenance. Ensures compliance for FDA, Joint Commission, CAP, NYS CLEP, NYS Tissue Bank, and other state regulations. Directly manages lab technicians and POC testing.  This role covers all locations for Women’s Health OBGYN for the Tri-State area. Reports to the Lab Director, Division Director, and OB/GYN Leadership.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain log of patient results to ensure correct patient accessioning.
  • Perform andrology procedures such as sperm cryopreservation and thawing, sperm vitality testing, retrograde sperm preparation.
  • Perform proficiency testing in the same manner as patients specimens for both the andrology & endocrine labs.
  • Maintain assay & instrument QC & QA in endocrine lab & document said actions.
  • Complete patient reports & enter data into electronic medical record and clinical filing system.
  • Maintain lab patient & billing databases, sperm tank inventory and lab supplies.
  • Train new personnel and supervise, schedule, and assume responsibility for lab when present.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/ GED Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology/Chemistry Preferred
  • 3 Year’s Experience; but will Train the right candidate
  • NYS Department of Education Clinical Licensed Technologist (CLT) certification required within 3 years of being employed
