The OB/GYN and Women’s Health Department seeks Lab Technologist II to join their dynamic team.  This role requires proficiency in all basic functions of Andrology & Endocrine labs.  This role requires rigorous QA and QC regarding handling of specimens and extreme care and caution in labeling and handling specimens. The lab technologist must be able to process human semen for diagnostic and therapeutic use as well as handle human blood and serum for diagnostic testing.


Responsibilities include:

  • Processing & testing of andrology specimens, daily instrumentation, QC & QA
  • Operate and troubleshoot an automated serum immunoanalyzer.
  • Document all corrective action when test systems deviate from the lab's established performance specifications & notify the lab director
  • Perform proficiency testing in the same manner as patient specimens for both the andrology & endocrine labs


Education/Skills required:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in related field is required.
  • Experience with operation and maintenance of clean bench, 2 centrifuges, phase contrast microscope, water bath, and immunoanalyzer required


Please note

  • No specific license, registration or professional certification required at time of hire, but New York State Department of Education Certification for Lab Technologist will be required with on-job training.
  • Hours vary (Inclusive of Weekends)
