ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FINANCIAL REPORTING

TARRYTOWN, NY, US


1. The Assistant Director is directly responsible for managing the monthly financial close and financial statement preparation processes for all of Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  This position addresses tight monthly deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger analysis, individual financial statement reporting as well as consolidated reporting to the parent, year end audit preparation, and support of the budget and forecast activities

A. Maintain financial close calendar to inform parties of necessary deadline adherence for the following processes: financial work paper   analysis, monthly reporting packages. 

 B.  Perform continuous assessment of the close process and process re-engineering to accelerate monthly close and reporting processes.  Develop, implement and ensure effective and practical implementation of formal policies and procedures.

2. Supervise various members of the financial accounting team.

 

Education/Skills:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting  required.  Master's Degree preferred.  CPA preferred.

10 years experience.  Experience working in an research intensive academic health school or hospital.

Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -paced, dead-line driven setting. Experience with Banner or other large automated accounting system a plus. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
