MANAGER BENEFITS

TARRYTOWN, NY, US


The Benefits Manager oversees the administration of employee benefits in all hospital operations. This position installs approved, new or modified plans and employee benefits policies and supervises the administration of existing plans. 

To keep informed of the Medical Center’s current (and changing) benefit plans eligibility, and costs which vary by associate e.g., Choice, 1199, NYSNA, job classification, full or part-time status, active or inactive. Responds promptly to associates’ problems and concerns, while simultaneously administering some of the Voluntary programs and preparing benefits procedures. Formulates replies to surveys, auditors, special requests as well as conducting orientation and counseling sessions.

 

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.  Masters preferred but not required.

Certified Benefits Professional, CBP, preferred but not required

Five (5) years of related pension/retirement plan experience required.

Requires attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills, basic math, organizational, reading comprehension, interpretation, negotiation, analytical, and problem solving skills. 
Requires knowledge/understanding of benefit plans and related contractual documents and laws. .
Must be able to work independently and be an effective team member. 
Proven ability to successfully accommodate and process a large volume of customer activities and requests. 
Some intercampus travel required (up to ~5%).
