The IT Service Management initiative is to improve Customer Service in the business and provide the highest level of customer service across Montefiore IT.  With the goal of developing a process-based practice intended to align the delivery of information technology services with the needs of the enterprise, emphasizing benefits to customers.  


IT Service Management is the face of IT,  and interfaces with every part of the MIT organization.    


IT Service Management is seeking a Business Analyst who will analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. This individual prepares detailed requirements specifications and provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that meet user requirements.


The Business Analyst has responsibilities within each phase of the project life cycle including user meetings, requirements development and review, development, testing, implementation, and go-live.


The Business Analyst provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.



The Business Analyst will analyze business processes and workflows.

  • Identify stakeholders.
  • Meet with users to identify needs and requests for the system.
  • Analyze complex problems to be solved with automated systems. With an in-depth understanding of the system and the potential functionality, make suggestions for process improvements and modifications to the system based on the findings and criteria of the users.
    • Create specifications for systems to meet business or clinical requirements.
  • Analyze system processes.
    • Work closely with team members to identify technical needs, technical constraints, effort, and the potential to meet user needs.
    • Identify the source of a problem or issue.
  • Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures.
  • Document specifications, workflows, and user requirements. Maintain specifications, revising as changes and enhancements are developed.
  • Carryout responsibilities within each phase of the project life cycle including user meetings, requirements development and review, development, testing, implementation, and go-live.
    • Estimate and report own effort and adhere to project schedule as defined in Work Breakdown.
    • responsibilities may further include one or more of the following:

    • Quality Assurance responsibilities including the planning and execution of functional, regression, and user acceptance testing.
    • Client Support
      • Work with help desk and support personnel on escalated issues to identify problems and resolve them.
      • Troubleshoot and analyze data to ensure that the system is functioning as per user requirements.
    • Create user training materials and/or participate in training users in the use of the new system.
    • Document policies and procedures, allowing for consistency in practices.
    • PMO Reporting - Prepare and deliver various reports (recurring and ad-hoc) supporting PMO Governance and key performance indicators
    • Performs other related duties as required.



  • 3-5 years experience as a BA
  • Business systems analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal Communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint
  • Creating system specifications
  • Documentation of user requirements and workflows
  • Quality Assurance and testing
  • Familiar with relevant business processes and workflows.



Bachelors Degree OR Relevant Work Experience
