Case Management Opportunity at Montefiore

At Montefiore, DOING MORE means building on a history of firsts to create the future of healthcare. For over 100 years, we’ve been pushing the boundaries of medicine with innovations such as the intravenous cardiac pacemaker and one of the nation’s first pediatric kidney transplants. And as we continue to move forward, we look for professionals who want to join our team of leaders and trailblazers to advance the health of our communities in Westchester, the Hudson Valley and the Bronx.

Montefiore Division of Clinical Documentation Improvement is seeking an energetic and ambitious Registered Nurse (NYSNA) to collaborate with physicians and HIM associates to ensure compliance with coding and reimbursement guidelines for inpatient admissions.  The position offers an opportunity to work with dedicated staff to review medical records on a concurrent basis to assess the extent to which clinical documentation accurately reflects the severity of patient illness and the scope and intensity of services/procedures.

The position is ideal for a dynamic individual seeking a challenge outside of a clinical setting and an opportunity to have a meaningful impact on many patients.  The successful candidate would be someone who is technologically savvy, have excellent clinical knowledge of disease entities, and the RN queries, physicians or physician extenders to clarify diagnosis and procedures to support accurate DRG assignment.
