CONFIGURATION MANAGER - 9060

YONKERS, NY, US


Our IT Service Management department (ITSM) is 95 people strong and growing. We are seeking a Configuration Manager who values designing, creating and maturing process improvement.  In this critical role, a diplomatic yet assertive Manager plays the key role in overseeing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), a vital foundational component to the Service Management practice at Montefiore IT. The CMDB supports core ITIL processes that are owned and managed by the Service Management team – Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, and Service Measurement & Reporting. The Configuration Manager will have responsibility for ensuring its accuracy and improvement evolution. This individual will continuously improve governance adherence practices as a part of MIT culture.

 

This position is based in Yonkers, NY

 

Responsibilities:

  • Take a lead role in analyzing CMDB data to highlight anomalies and errors and to identify opportunities
  • Apply skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and established policies and procedures to perform trend analysis and guide strategy
  • Provide guidance and work with other departments in recommending corrective and preventive actions
  • Define CMDB data quality reports to ensure accurate and up to date information
  • Define process for implementing  & performing configuration monitoring
  • Work with configuration item (CI) owners to define remediation plans
  • Maintain CMDB Data Model
  • Report on Metrics for CMDB activity on a weekly, monthly basis
  • Coordinate process interactions between Configuration and other processes

 

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • ITIL v3 Foundations required / ITIL v3 Practitioner preferred
  • Proficient in developing and implementing configuration management processes
  • Working knowledge of change management best practices and methodologies
  • Strong understanding of service management principles including management of configuration items (CIs)
  • Good understanding of Process Management / Asset Management
  • Prior experience working in a large, highly regulated and compliance-focused environment
  • Prior experience working in Hospital & Healthcare is desirable
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools and CA Service Manager is a plus
  • Experienced using MS Office Visio in creating flow charts
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills; ability to form strong relationships at all levels in the organization
  • Must be detail oriented, analytical, and demonstrate ability to work in an ambiguous environment with competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and display flexibility
