Our IT Service Management organization is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist. The person in this role must have schedule flexibility to perform some work on weekends as needed, and transportation to travel among several sites in the Bronx and Westchester.  


Responsibilities include:

  • Provide excellent customer service in addressing and solving client’s desktop and laptop issues.  Serve as the client’s advocate when resolving their issues and requests. Take ownership of issue, keeping customer updated with any change in status as progress is made towards resolution.
  • Travel to client locations as needed and provide onsite support for users according to Desktop support guidelines.
  • Perform daily site walk-throughs to identify and resolve issues before users experience any disruption.  
  • Perform diagnostics on hardware, software, and peripheral equipment and perform corrective actions.
  • Respond to coordinate and remediate client support issues within an allotted time.
  • Track inventory and changes to the environment.
  • Escalate issues to appropriate support group as necessary.  Collaborate with other support groups as necessary to facilitate problem resolution. Monitor and escalate to management when needed.
  • Use and maintain current support policies and methods of support delivery.  Communicate client and technical services policies for supported products.
  • Identify network/connectivity issues and resolve them or escalate problems to the appropriate department or associate.
  • Manage queues and update assigned tickets with regular log entries to reflect any efforts being made toward resolution and closure.
  • Attend Desktop Support Group training and be a subject matter expert in areas where training is provided.  Mentor and provide expert guidance to fellow associates.
  • Maintain a well-structured relationship with business floor managers, administrators, and client’s staff.  Perform rounding to support the end user community at the assigned locations.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts necessary to provide prompt resolution of hardware issues.
  • Identify areas of opportunity where improvements can be made to existing procedures to enhance department efficiencies.
  • Maintain/optimize all computer equipment within assigned locations.  Provide an accurate inventory of the area’s equipment.
  • Research, resolve, and respond to highly complex challenges or problems in accordance with Desktop Support Guidelines.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of support issues as they apply on a company-wide and business basis.
  • Participate in rollouts and other team projects that enhance the quality or efficiency of support.  Participate in training and certifications offered for supported products, applications, and technology.
  • Install, repair, and provide preventative maintenance of personal computers and related systems.

  • CA Service Manager, SCCM, Citrix, Office 365, MS Office Suite, SharePoint, SEP



  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
