EPIC - APPLICATION ANALYST - AMBULATORY PRIMARY CARE - 3753

YONKERS, NY, US


The Epic Ambulatory Primary Care  Application Analyst utilizes their extensive knowledge of the client’s clinical or business requirements, application capabilities, and his/her technical skills to implement and support applications. The Application Analyst is responsible for the implementation of new applications, upgrades, and modifications to existing systems and assisting in the coordination of these efforts. The Application Analyst is also responsible for the application configuration, go-live support, and on-going client support including working on multiple projects concurrently. The Application Analyst provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.

 

*Epic Certification is required to perform the duties of this position.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Application Analyst will install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings. 
• Provide go-live and rollout support. Support users on new applications, modules, and functionality. 
• Provide application troubleshooting support for the application(s). Resolve the issue, forward it to the correct group for remediation, or elevate it to the vendor if required. 
• Assist with determining how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users. 
o Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements. 
o Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system. 
o Create system specifications from user requirements. 

• Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any system modification. Document all outcomes of testing. 
• Design database queries and create reports utilizing a report-writing tool. 
• Monitor application issues and evaluate issues as they arise. 
• Write and maintain accurate and current documentation regarding application(s) supported by the team. Participate in the maintenance of training materials and disseminate materials to users. 
• Provide timely, effective, and professional customer support on a 24x7 rotating basis. Work with the help desk and support personnel on escalated issues to identify problems and resolve them. Triage network, hardware, or workstation issues as required. 

Depending on the Department or assigned project, responsibilities may also include one or more of the following:
• Apply business knowledge to system processes and manipulation of data to ensure successful transactions through the system.
• Make necessary enhancements to add or maintain functionality of the application. These changes may include creating and modifying screens, tables, dictionaries, and rules.
• Participate in the design, development and maintenance of system interfaces. Validate and test system interfaces.
• Participate in policy and procedure development as it relates to security, downtime, backup operations and disaster recovery activities.
• Administer application security and access controls.
• Provide or coordinate ongoing training for clients in the use of systems.
• Provide server maintenance as required.
• Apply patches and fixes to the Operating System, or write scripts to aid in implementations, integrations, and continued performance

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Epic Certification
  • Application implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience preferred.
  • Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
  • Knowledge of business areas.
  • Programming or other technical skills beneficial.
  • Experience dealing with end users and vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.

 

EDUCATION:

 Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience.
