The Application Analyst will use their extensive knowledge of the client’s clinical or business requirements, application capabilities, and your technical skills to implement and support the department. The Application Analyst is responsible for the implementation of new applications, upgrades and modifications. The Application Analyst is also responsible for the application ASAP module configuration, go-live support, and on-going client support. The Application Analyst works on multiple projects concurrently.

 

The EPIC ASAP team supports Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care services for Montefiore Health System.  The Application Analyst will support, maintain, upgrade and optimize Epic ASAP and associated third-party systems along with other related projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

    • Install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings.
    • Provide go-live and rollout support. Support users on new applications, modules, and functionality.
    • Provide application troubleshooting support for the application(s).
    • Resolve critical issues independently as necessary.
    • Assist with determining how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users: 
        • Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements.
        • Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system.
        • Create system specifications from user requirements.
    • Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any system modifications.
    • Document all outcomes of testing.
    • Configure applications to conform to stakeholder requirements
    • Participate in technical integration and interface build
    • Design database queries and create reports utilizing a report-writing tool.
    • Monitor application issues and evaluate issues as they arise.
    • Write and maintain accurate and current documentation regarding application(s) supported by the team. Participate in the maintenance of training materials and disseminate materials to users.
    • Analyze necessary application modifications and work with the appropriate Montefiore IT associate or the vendor to coordinate the modification.
    • Act as a liaison to the vendor for Montefiore IT or the client.
    • Contact vendor to report escalations and obtain assistance with solving issues.
    • Assist with the coordination of vendor activities including hardware or software installation.
    • Provide 24 x 7 on-call coverage for user support on a rotating basis.
    • On-site support is required on as-needed basis.
    • Perform other related duties as required

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

 

    • Epic certification in ANY OF THE FOLLOWING - ASAP, Orders or ClinDoc (strong consideration will be given to candidates that are not currently certified but can demonstrate ability to become certified)
    • Related clinical, healthcare or technical experience
    • Knowledge of system development and life cycle processes related to application implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support
    • Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
    • Knowledge of SDLC
    • Experience in determining how a new system, upgrade or new component can best meet the needs of end users
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Strong communication, interpersonal and rapport-building skills
    • Strong presentation skills
    • On-call, rotational support on a rotating basis

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR Relevant work experience
  • Epic certification in ASAP, Orders or ClinDoc
  • Knowledge of emergency department workflows
  • Experience working with third-party application vendors
  • Programming or other technical skills beneficial
