Our Epic team is comprised of over 150 IT professionals focused on streamlining the way we share patient information across clinical providers and business systems users, with the goal of making each patient’s experience seamless and patient-centered. The team includes Application & Clinical Analysts, Business Intelligence Analysts, Access & Revenue Cycle Analysts, Credentialed Trainers, Instructional Designers, Software Engineers, and their management. This elite organization takes pride in having completed our initial Epic implementation fully six months ahead of schedule.


Beacon is Epic's medical oncology application. It is also used in the areas of hematology, BMT, radiation oncology, and gynecological oncology. Beacon treatment plans manage a patient's therapy across visits for the entire length of treatment. Features of Beacon include automated AJCC Cancer Staging, CPOE for chemotherapy and oncology orders, and the ability to meet the documentation requirements of certifying organizations, such as the Joint Commission.


The Montefiore IT Beacon team supports  Montefiore's EHR and third-party systems for The Cancer Center and Heme/Onc specialties. Epic requires maintenance & support, which includes frequent upgrades, optimizations, customizations, and system updates.


We are seeking an Application Analyst for the Beacon team. This role’s primary responsibility will be application build, testing, documentation, and support for The Cancer Center. This position will also share after-hours on-call responsibilities with other members of the Beacon team, to include downtime testing during system patches and upgrades.






  • Epic Beacon certification, OR other Epic Ambulatory certification and knowledge of oncology workflows
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a related clinical, healthcare business, or technical position
  • Strong desktop skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Experience supporting end-users
  • On-call responsibilities




  • Full cycle implementation with go-live experience
  • Application troubleshooting, testing, and support experience
  • Project Management skills (ability to lead meetings, present information, prioritize, resolve conflict, maintain issues list, and manage a project plan).
  • Programming or other technical skills
  • Experience working with vendors




Bachelor’s Degree or Relative Work Experience
