EPIC - APPLICATION ANALYST - OPTIME / ANESTHESIA - 5022

At Montefiore, you will use your extensive knowledge of the client’s clinical or business requirements, application capabilities, and your technical skills to implement and support the department. The Application Analyst is responsible for the implementation of new applications, upgrades, and modifications to existing systems and assisting in the coordination of these efforts. The Application Analyst is also responsible for the application configuration, go-live support, and on-going client support. He/she/they works on multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities:
- The Application Analyst will Install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings.
- Provide go-live and rollout support. Support users on new applications, modules, and functionality.
- Provide application troubleshooting support for the application(s).
- Resolve critical issues independently as necessary. Forward issues to the correct group for remediation, or elevate it to the vendor if required.
- Assist with determining how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users:
- Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements.
- Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system.
- Create system specifications from user requirements.
- Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any system modifications.
- Document all outcomes of testing.
- Design database queries and create reports utilizing a report-writing tool.
- Monitor application issues and evaluate issues as they arise.
- Write and maintain accurate and current documentation regarding application(s) supported by the team. Participate in the maintenance of training materials and disseminate materials to users.
- Analyze necessary application modifications and work with the appropriate Montefiore IT associate or the vendor to coordinate the modification.
- Act as a liaison to the vendor for Montefiore IT or the client.
- Contact vendor to report escalations and obtain assistance with solving issues.
- Assist with the coordination of vendor activities including hardware or software installation.
- Provide 24 x 7 on-call coverage for user support on a rotating basis.
- On-site support is required on as-needed basis.
- Perform other related duties as required
Required:
- Epic certification in OpTime and/or Anesthesia. Strong consideration will be given for other Epic clinical certification ALONG with knowledge of surgical workflows
- Knowledge of system development and life cycle processes related to application implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support
- Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Experience in determining how a new system, upgrade or new component can best meet the needs of end users
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication, interpersonal and rapport-building skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Must be able to multi-task effectively
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Provide 24 x 7 on-call coverage for user support on a rotating basis. On-site support is required on as-needed basis
Desired:
- Experience or strong knowledge with laboratory workflows
- Experience with Point of Care device implementation and integration
- Experience with any of the following is a plus: Stryker Studio 3, Massimo (formally nanthealth) DeviceConx and HBOX technologies, Mobile Aspect, Provation MD for Endo and Bronch, Philips IBE, Point of care testing – UNIPOC
- Experience working with third-party application vendors
- Programming or other technical skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
