Our Epic team is comprised of over 150 IT professionals focused on streamlining the way we share patient information across clinical providers and business systems users, with the goal of making each patient’s experience seamless and patient-centered. The team includes Application & Clinical Analysts, Business Intelligence Analysts, Access & Revenue Cycle Analysts, Credentialed Trainers, Instructional Designers, Software Engineers, and their management. This elite organization takes pride in having completed our initial Epic implementation fully six months ahead of schedule.


Epic Beacon is Epic Systems' medical oncology module, in which physicians can document cancer staging and manage chemotherapy by creating and personalizing treatment plans based on standard oncology protocols.


We are seeking a Senior Application Analyst for the Beacon team. This role’s primary responsibility will be oncology protocol build, testing, and validation. Responsibilities include Adult, Pediatric, and Research protocol build. *This position will also share after-hours on-call responsibilities with other members of the Beacon team, to include downtime testing during system patches and upgrades.


The MIT-Epic Clin Doc/Beacon Team supports Montefiore Medical Centers' EMR and Third-Party Systems for The Cancer Center and Oncology specialties. Epic requires Maintenance & Support, which includes frequent Upgrades/SUs, optimizations and customizations


Additionally, the Epic Senior Application Analyst performs a thorough analysis of workflows, data collection, report details and other technical issues associated with Epic software. This Senior Analyst prepares detailed requirements specifications and provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and configuring systems and procedures that meet user requirements. This position has responsibility within all phases of the application implementation including design, build, test, installation and maintenance of the application.

  • The Senior Application Analyst requires Clinical experience in oncology (RN, PA, NP, or Pharmacist, (RpH, PharmD)
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a related clinical, healthcare business, or technical position
  • Strong desktop skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • On-Call responsibilities




  • Epic Beacon certification, OR other Epic clinical certification and knowledge of oncology workflows
  • Project Management skills (ability to lead meetings, present information, prioritize, resolve conflict, maintain issues list, and manage a project plan).
  • Full cycle implementation with go-live experience
  • Pediatric/Research protocol build experience
  • Willow Certification (with medication build experience)
  • Knowledge of inpatient and ambulatory workflows
  • Application implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience
  • Experience supporting end-users
  • Experience working with vendors
  • Programming or other technical skills




Bachelors Degree OR Relative Work Experience




Analyzes complex business or clinical problems and specifies the functionality of solutions. Prepares detailed requirements specifications and provides technical expertise in the identification, evaluation anddevelopment of systems and procedures that meet user requirements. Performs work activities within each phase of the projectlife cycle.
