The HR Manager originates and leads HR practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes customer service, quality, productivity and high standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.  The HR Manager coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through HR service areas, assists and advises leaders on an array of HR matters.  This role reports to the HR Business Partner.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following: Contributes to establish measurements that support the accomplishment of the strategic goals; monitors culture to support the attainment of such goals to promote employee engagement and satisfaction; Supports the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with strategic goals; Develops employee engagement programs and initiatives throughout the business areas; employee communication and feedback through such avenues as meetings, suggestion programs, surveys, focus groups, and etc.; Educates leaders and staff to HR regulatory requirements such as; Department of Health, The Joint Commission, Center for Medicaid Services and etc.;Provides necessary education and materials to managers and employees including workshops, manuals, union contracts, and standardized reports; Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to ensure compliance of regulatory requirements; Maintains employee-related databases and initiates workflows in HR system; Partners with management to communicate HR policies, procedures, programs, and laws; Assists with the implementation of the performance management system that includes performance development plans and employee development programs; Conducts investigations for potential compliance and/or employee/labor relations violations; Counsels leaders on employment issues and advises on progressive discipline process accordingly; Creates job descriptions and partners with Compensation for their review; Partners with Compensation to ensure consistent pay practices. 


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in HR, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent required.
  • Five plus years of progressive leadership experience in HR positions required; Healthcare background a plus.
  • Experience with database management, record keeping, and MS Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide solutions by integrating knowledge, systems, and policies.
  • Effective oral and written communication; ability to have different conversations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
