INTERNET SYSTEMS ENGINEER - CISCO/ASA - 8491

YONKERS, NY, US


The Internet Systems Engineer is responsible for the full project life cycle of all Internet systems and application implementations.  Responsibilities will include the analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and support of the deployed technologies.  The engineer takes the lead in the enforcement and improvement of Internet systems and application security, ensuring that all hardware, software, policies, and procedures are up to date with security standards.  The Internet Systems Engineer provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization's mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.

 

The team provide enterprise architecture design, engineering, operations and maintenance support for the entire Montefiore and Albert Einstein College of Medicine Internet Infrastructure.  The group supports, Internet-facing Routers, Switches, Cisco and CheckPoint Firewalls, Netscaler, VPNs , External DNS, Blue Coat and more, including 1st-3rd level support for the entire Montefiore, AECOM (Albert Einstein College of Medicine) and WPH (White Plain Hospital)  Internet infrastructures.  The group supports all firewalls (Cisco and Checkpoint), Internet routers and switches, Netscaler, VPN's, External DNS, Bluecoat hardware and more

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Design and Coordinate the implementation of the company’s Internet perimeter infrastructure,  including Firewalls (Cisco ASA and Firepower, Checkpoint), BGP routing, DMZ network monitoring,  and/or Internet proxies
    Design VPN (IPSEC, SSSLVPN, L2L Tunnels) configurations and implement them throughout the corporation.
  • Design & Development of Internet Infrastructure Solutions that are highly available and support business continuity requirements.
    Design & Development of network load balancing solutions.
  • Knowledge and skills required to implement and manage traffic management, load balancing, content switching, and application offloading. (F5 or Citrix)
  • Work with IT Security team to ensure a stable environment for Internet and Intranet applications.
    Work with Network operations (NCC) staff to educate and train staff on internet technologies.
  • Provides on-call 24x7 support when required.
    Works with business areas, vendors and other system professionals to identify, design and implement innovative internet solutions.
  • Responsible for evaluating new technologies and making recommendations for products that support the Internet Infrastructure.
    Participate in workflow and policy improvements.

 Current Projects:  Member Hospital Next Generation Firewall, Enterprise VPN Redundancy and Load Balancing Refresh and Optimization

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • In-Depth Technical Knowledge of Cisco Next Gen and ASA Firewalls
  • In-Depth Technical Knowledge of VPN/remote access solutions
  • In-Depth Technical Knowledge of Cisco and / or Juniper routing & switching
  • Working technical knowledge of  load Balancing (F5 or Citrix)
  • Knowledge and skills required to implement and manage NetScaler for traffic management, load balancing, content switching, and application offloading.

EDUCATION: Bachelors OR Relative Work Experience in IT

Certifications a Plus
