Performs a variety of outreach activities such as the recruitment, screening and tracking of clients for a community based health program.  Develops and conducts health education and counseling services for clients.


Part Time Work Hours: Flexible (will discuss)
Responsibilities/Duties include:

  1. Conduct HIV prevention and treatment related outreach and PrEP outreach, at community-based venues including bars, clubs, cruising sites, online/social media
  2. Help connect gay, bi, other same gender loving men, and trans experienced individuals to medical care by working with other team members and the patient navigator
  3. Make referrals for rapid HIV testing
  4. Promoting community events through social media and community outreach
  5. Conduct street outreach to areas frequented by street youth
  6. Review of Prevention Center postings, marketing materials, program pamphlets and flyers to ensure sensitivity and inclusion of LGBTQ needs
  7. Attend team meetings and trainings as needed/required/appropriate
  8. Ensure cleanliness and tidiness at Drop in Center site, Report maintenance and safety issues to manager 
  9. Assist with food insecure referrals and operations



High school diploma/ GED.  Preferred Level:  Associate degree (or commensurate experience)

Computer skills required, including strong familiarity with social media (Facebook, Instagram, dating apps)


  1. Familiar with the various Bronx and upper Manhattan LGBTQ communities, has at least 1 year experience conducting outreach to Bronx LGBTQ individuals
  2. Knowledgeable about PrEP, PEP, HIV, U=U and Prevention strategies
  3. Knowledgeable about the needs of diverse LGBTQ populations in the Bronx/Uptown
  4. Command of Microsoft Word and Excel; Typing, data entry and problem-solving skills
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Knowledge of regulations governing confidentiality of medical record information
  7. Knowledge of HIV specific confidentiality laws
  8. Bilingual-Spanish language
