SENIOR APPLICATION ANALYST - PROJECT MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS- 7387

YONKERS, NY, US


Working with the Montefiore IT PMO (Project Management Office) team, the Senior Application Analyst will play a fundamental role in supporting the full project life cycle processes.  To succeed in this role the individual needs to have strong relationship skills and solid knowledge of project management, process management, and data analytics. The work is very dynamic, which will require the candidate to be a critical and forward-thinker, self-starter, problem-solver, creative, consistent, and flexible.

 

In this role, a typical day may include the following:

  • Conduct working sessions with clients to gather, understand, analyze and document business and technical requirements
  • Assess and analyze data in the Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) systems and work with collaborators to triage new project requests for IT to provide estimates
  • Identify gaps and/or areas for improvement in established processes, determine possible solutions to address them, and develop workflow diagrams to document the proposed solution
  • Drive discussions with the PMO and other areas of the organization to propose any changes or enhancements to established processes
  • Demonstrates design options through the use of prototyping
  • Creative problem solver with the flexibility to navigate uncertainty
  • Produce intelligent, data-driven, fact based, measurable reports/data graphs and KPIs to visually articulate progress and variation
  • Perform data hygiene analysis, identify, compare, and resolve data quality problems in reporting database and PPM systems
  • Aggregate, manipulate, reconcile, and evaluate large dataset for quality and accuracy using Microsoft Excel
  • Develop presentations to communicate the status/KPIs of the IT project requests
  • Support all facets of the testing life cycle including the following
    • Develop Test Plan
    • Create Test matrices
    • Conduct unit, integration and UAT testing, where applicable
  • Develop Training and Reference materials including the following:
    • End User documentation
    • PMO how to documentation
  • Conduct End User training
  • Provide Clarity PPM tool functional support

 

Required:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of Clarity PPM Application, with the added knowledge of Rally and/or Jira a plus
    • Strong proficiency in MS Tools including Excel (Macros, Pivot tables and Charts, Functions etc.) 
    • Knowledge of Project Planning tools (MS Project, Open Workbench etc.)
    • Use and knowledge of MS Visio to create visual process drawings & workflow documentation
    • Database structure, relational databases, and SQL
  • Data Analysis/Data Visualization
    • Advanced Excel Skills (Pivot table, What If scenarios, indexing, complex formulas, macros and VBA-desired)
    • Power BI or any Business Intelligence solution is desired
  • Process Management
    • Analyze, design, identify gaps, develop workflows
    • Process mapping using Microsoft Visio
    • Identify gaps/opportunities for automation
  • Communication and Presentation Skills
    • PowerPoint
    • Experience training users
  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science / Business Data Analytics or equivalent experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, co-workers, and customers is essential
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and work on several projects, as well as provide trouble-shooting analysis
