Responsible for managing and providing technical expertise in the planning and support of a large Active Directory environment.  Candidate must have strong technical knowledge and understanding of industry best practices in applying procedures, policies, and methodologies related to a large Active Directory environment.  Will be responsible for planning and architectural design for upgrade to Active Directory environment.  Candidate must provide outstanding customer service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care. 


The Systems Engineer will be an Active Directory subject matter expert that ensures outstanding client service in supporting a large Active Directory infrastructure.  The candidate will be responsible for providing 7x24x365 support and system monitoring, as well as evaluation and making recommendations of architectural changes and review new technologies to improve performance, stability, design and security of the Active Directory environment.  The DE will be responsible for providing high level input on system design, optimization and product enhancements based on user requirements.  The Systems Engineer will work on and help plan project related work ranging in size, complexity and scope. 


Required Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain Active Directory Services.
  • Keep Active Directory environment updated and patched.
  • Manage common and complex Active Directory related administrative tasks.
  • Ensure security of Active Directory environment.
  • Participate in planning and migration efforts of legacy Active Directory environments.
  • Lead in design, implementation and support of all aspects of the Active Directory environment.
  • Lead  in planning and integration of multiple Active Directory environments.
  • Manage common preventive System maintenance for remotely managed hardware and software.
  • Evaluate and manage the use of industry tools to monitor System health and performance of Active Directory.
  • Participate in Active Directory Governance activities.
  • Create and manage updates to documentation, including standard operating procedures, system inventories and configuration baselines.
  • Collaborate with Security Team to maintain the security of the environment.
  • Manage multiple requests, tasks and requirements.
  • Assist in defining System requirements and budget forecast for project related work.
  • Develop resource requirements, project scopes and objectives for project based work.
  • Provide System capacity planning.


  • Work closely and coordinate with internal management on project actions and recommendations.
  • Ensure that System documentation is completed and kept up to date.
  • Provide management with project updates on work being done and assist in management reports.
  • Provide System Dash Board Reports.
  • Provide solutions to ensure the delivery of quality service and products to clients.
  • Assist in the review and development of policies and procedures.
  • Review workflow process and seek out efficiencies.
  • Record and track issues.
  • Remain abreast of trends and evaluate the need for new technologies



  • Knowledge of Quest migration tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows server 2012, Active Directory, DNS, Group/Security policies in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of O365 / Azure AD / AAD Connect
  • Strong PowerShell scripting knowledge
  • Knowledge of HP, Dell, IBM and Cisco UCS server hardware configurations.
  • Knowledge of corporate software used.; Knowledge of Microsoft tools.
  • Solid understanding of underlying technologies: hardware, software, networking, internet and wireless.
  • Strong knowledge of Server Virtualization Technologies.
  • Knowledge of CA Service Desk a plus.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and ability to cope in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and assess work load in order to meet deadlines.

Microsoft MCITP Certification preferred.



Bachelor’s degree OR Relative Work experience in IT

Provides senior level design, implementation, and maintenance of systems and other projects. Develops technical solutions to resolve complexi ssues and improve the performance of systems.
